Acting for Film and TV Weekend

The Saturday Acting Academy

This is an exceptional weekend course for those people wishing to learn or develop existing acting skills for the medium of film but who cannot commit to a full-time schedule.

The course is lead by Max McGill, a BBC Director, and our acting tutors. You will learn core acting skills as well as all the technical skills necessary for you to perform confidently in front of a camera. You will act in filmed exercises and also shoot exercises yourselves so that you know what it is like to be on the other side of the camera. At the end of the course, you will be given a DVD of the scenes that you and your fellow actors have acted in.

The course helps you

  1. To gain more confidence in acting for the camera by understanding the filmmaking process in its entirety.
  2. To know the difference between acting for theatre and acting for film.
  3. To know and to have practiced the tools necessary to create a believable performance on screen.
  4. To be given valuable tools to prepare for a screen performance - including how to interpret a script.
